Protecting Pups (Equipment for K9s)

Protecting Pups aims to support law enforcement K9s by providing protective equipment which is outside of the budget for departments.
We provide ballistics vests, heat alert/deployment systems, cooling vests, cooling mats, spill-proof water bowls, K9 first aid kits, and a toy. Our current goal is for equipment for Longview, Marshall, Tyler, Overton, Nacogdoches, Bullard, Palestine, Wood County, Smith County, Whitehouse, and the Highway Patrol. If other teams need our help we are willing, as long as donations are there. The cost of regular cooling equipment for each dog is $83 (vest $30, mat $36, water bowl $14.50 and toy $2.50).
Check, cashier's check, or money order donation can be made at any Chase bank to the account named "Protecting Pups".
Growing up in Longview the coolest, smartest, and sweetest dog lived several houses down. He was a German Shepherd named Ali, he worked for the Longview Police Department and lived with his human partner. Luckily Ali retired to live with his family and died in old age, many police dogs are not so lucky.
Those that are not so lucky are killed in the line of duty by stabbings or gun shot wounds. There are ways that these pups can be protected, but unlike their biped counterparts, the protection for these pups is not provided by the police department.
Bejarus, Dalo, and Indio are protected with vests from this campaign. Overton PD K9 Roo is currently in need of balistic protection.
We want the best for these beasts, and the best is expensive. Luckily, we have help from Vested Interest in K9s. Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit fundraising organization dedicated to providing bullet and stab protective vests for law enforcement K-9s throughout the United States. Furry officers deserve to be protected. These dogs are not only part of a police force and our community, but also a part of a family.
Dalo is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd mix that loves his Kong toys. Bejarus is a 7 year old Belgian Malinois with an impressive jump and Indio is a handsome 4 year old Belgian Malinois.
