In order to provide educational opportunities and unity for columnists, bloggers, and other opinion writers, the National Society of Newspaper Columnists will host its Annual Conference from June 20-23, 2019 in Buffalo, New York, at the historic Henry Urban Hotel and Conference Center. NSNC's 2019 conference program will include how-to workshops, industry experts, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnists, and nationally renowned journalists.
In NSNC we believe that knowledge is power. Through contributions from generous donors, NSNC will be able to fund the educational sessions at the 43nd Annual Columnists Conference, arming columnists with the knowledge they need to pursue their craft ethically. We also believe that there is strength in numbers. Our conferences enable us to build solid networks among our members, so that we can fight for a free press with solidarity.
Here's how donations of all sizes can support NSNC's annual educational event:
$25: Your donation will go toward audiovisual requirements for conference educational programs.
$100: Your donation will pay the cost to copy ten conference booklets.
$300: Your donation will pay the hotel lodging expenses for one speaker.
$500: Your donation will provide breakfast during our Saturday morning conference session.
$1,000: Your donation will cover the cost of renting the educational spaces needed for our conference sessions.
About the National Society of Newspaper Columnists:
The NSNC is a professional non-profit organization [501(c)6] devoted to the education and training of aspiring and published columnists, including bloggers, in all media. NSNC was founded in 1977 and exists to promote professionalism and camaraderie among columnists and other writers of the serial essay, including bloggers. Membership is open to general interest, humor, items, op-ed, video, multimedia or other columnists. Academics and student columnists also are eligible to join. The annual conference is NSNC’s primary event. The educational group also publishes a monthly newsletter; manages a thriving social media network; publishes articles on industry issues and member news at www.columnists.com; and advocates for columnists and free-press issues. New members are always welcome.
