Mississippi Youth and Technology
THIS IS A NONPROFIT PROJECT.
Any money that isnt reached by gofundme will be single-handedly provided with my own funds. This project will take place in Fall 2018.
Imagine what the world would be like without ever making a phone call. Imagine never sending that email to your boss, or never submitting an online application to your dream job. Computers have taken part in nearly every American citizen’s life. However, many states fall behind on their computer education. Mississippi is a prime example of a state that struggles to teach students about the technology field. I have decided it is time to to bridge this gap.
As a young boy, my uncle showed me a computer he assembled. I had never realized people can build such powerful machines; I had believed they were only manufactured in large warehouses, by "computer scientists". He pointed to each part and taught as if it were a brain; each part functioned for a different purpose. I was in awe, and the computer fascinated my naive mind.
Many children will never get this same experience I had. These children will go about their lives with no interest in computer science due to lack of education and resources. In this new generation of children, I would like to give young students the opportunity to learn more about modern technology, and become better assets to Mississippi's careers in this field.
My goal for this project is to teach the students of Three Rivers Elementary School what each component of a computer does, and better educate them on how to build them. The fundraiser goal is 1,000 dollars. To better understand where your donation would be put, I have included the custom computer build for the project.

Every person that donates $5+ will have their name made into a sticker and placed on the computer. Furthermore, the top contributor will receive handwritten letters from the students, thanking them for their donation. Please note, all extra money will be donated to the program and will be put to good use.
I thank you so much for all of your support, and will keep you updated as the project advances.
