Project Broken Wings is a start-up non-profit that wishes to provide all youth, but particularly those from disadvantaged environments,  with job shadowing  and mentoring opportunities in the field of aviation.

The idea and vision for Project Broken Wings (PBW) was conceived in March of 2014 by aviation veteran Mike Kearney.  After initially pitching the idea to a major employer in the Greensboro, NC area - Mike shelved the idea when it seemed to have receieved a cold response. In February of 2017 after a sequence of life changing events, the idea for PBW was reinvigorated and pulled off the shelf as Mike declared "...now is the time..." According to Mike; "what God has for you - is  for you. While three years ago I was literally trying to give the idea away to someone else - God had other plans. What this clearly displayed to me is that sometimes we may in fact try to literally give our blessings away - but AGAIN, what God has for you - it is indeed for you".

Project Broken Wings has very ambitous goals to make a diference in the communities we seek to operate in. With that, we have established a very agressive capitalization plan - part of which includes "crowd funding".  After initially being very reluctant to seek crowd funding, our Founder and Chief Volunteer Officer Mike Kearney had to humbly concede  "sometimes in life you have to let your pride and ego go - especially when you're working and asking for someone else's benefit and you really need as much help as you can get. I've prayed on many occasions for God to send us an angel. Perhaps through GoFund Me - He will send several."

Eighty cents of every dollar raised for PBW will go directly toward funding our programs and initiatives. The remaining twenty cents will go toward the operating cost of running the organization for items such as hangar/office space, insurance, professional services, etc.

We have a very simple objective and mission - to help as many kids and young adults as we can - one at a time. To learn more about Project Broken Wings please visit www.projectbrokenwings.org or email mike@projectbrokenwings.org

Thank you in advance for any donation you are lead to make. We truly appreciate it and will ensure that it is used in the spirit of your giving.
