Raised Dog Bowls for K9 Police Dogs

Donation protected

Hi! We're Gary and Ingrid Fehr.

We are the owners of a small business in Ozark, Missouri called Ozarks Fehr Trade Originals.

We recently learned many police K9 programs are funded solely by donations, which includes everything from dog food to vet care to training. We were surprised to learn this!

In response, we donated 3 raised dog feeders to a nearby sheriff's department. Our friends, and fans of the sheriff's department have asked us how they can be a part of donating to K9 units across the country.

We'd like to partner with you to get as many feeders to K9 units that want them. Every dollar counts, and the more dollars, the more donations. Since we know pet feeders, that's how we'd like to help.

These K9s need help in many ways, not just raised dog feeders. They need food, vetting, toys, vehicles, training, etc.! You can donate direct in any way that you see fit. Contact your local police department to see what they need and how you can help. They take donations of supplies or money, so do what feels right for you!

Why raised dog feeders?

It's part of our business! We build the only completely safe and non-toxic raised pet feeders in the world. Our products are so safe that pets won't ever get sick, even if they lick or chew the finish.

We started making all natural products because the pair of us both had terrible reactions to the toxins in stains and varnishes and we were discouraged that we would have to stop doing what we loved. Gary burned his lungs when a gases from a varnish combined with a gas heater in our shop. I (Ingrid) had breast cancer and although sensitive before chemo and radiation, after the treatments I couldn't tolerate stains, varnishes or even household cleaners. We started transitioning from the life we knew to a new way of living. We decided we could keep doing what we loved, but with a healthy spin that would keep us healthy and positively affect our customers and the planet.

As parents to five dogs, you would think it was an obvious path to make pet feeders for dogs. In reality, it didn't even come to mind until a friend asked us to make a feeder for her dog who was dying from cancer. This dog was having a reaction to chemicals and toxins in raised feeders, so feeding was a challenge. We made just one, thinking this was a neat idea, and maybe our dogs (all seniors) would like a feeder too. We quickly realized that our one feeder was nice but since our own dogs ranged from 10 pounds to 100 pounds, we'd have to use different sizes and bowls. When we tested a few sizes online, they were a hit! When we started, about 1% of our business was raised feeders. Four short years later, about 90% of our business is raised feeders.

Since we began our eco-friendly business in 2014, we decided to donate any less-than-perfect or returned pet feeders to animal shelters, rescue organizations or pets in need. If a customer receives a feeder damaged during the shipping process, we ask them to give it to their favorite local rescue or shelter. We also donate to fundraising events for organizations across the country. So far, we’ve donated over 500 feeders!  This had had a positive impact on both our customers and their charities!

We think it's important for you to know we are not a non-profit. We simply a couple with a small business that takes pride in what they do and want to leave everyone and everything a little better than we found it. We do everything ourselves... from designing to creating to shipping and everything in between. Most of our business is word of mouth, and where we donate our raised feeders is completely lead by our customers, fans and followers.

We will donate labor. However, we need your kindness to help towards the cost of materials and shipping. (Our feeders average $50 to ship.) Together, we can make a positive impact for these special K9s!

Please contact us if you know of a K9 unit that would benefit from one of our raised feeders.

We encourage you to learn about us and find out why we do what we do. Visit our website at OFTO.us, or you can find us on social media at Facebook @OzarksFehrTradeOriginals, Twitter @oftodotus, and Instagram @oftollc. If you need a laugh, our YouTube videos are online and on our website.
