Project Inspiration

Hurricane Maria has had an unprecedented impact on the education system of Puerto Rico. Students may not be coming back to their school for a long time. We need to continue their education, until the formal system stabilizes and their routine can be established. In order to avoid boredom, displacement and reduce dropout rates, students must be inspired to continue moving forward in their learning process. The EcoExploratorio Science museum has started "Project Inspiration". We are reaching out with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) activities on-site at various community centers around the island, and providing them with a STEAM Exploration Notebook. Students work on different projects, inspired in their natural environment, that promotes science exploration and communication, and help to continue their learning activities.
