Project Cayley- Female Solo Flight

Donation protected
Youngest Female to Solo Around the World-

Sir George Cayley is known as the "Father of Aeronautics", and when I read his story in school I was blown away. He was a simple man who lived in times when flying in an aircraft wasn't even in the picture. He flew gliders, drew aircraft patterns, and developed the outline of the wing.  He, I believe, is the ultimate example of doing the unbelievable. No matter what the world around you is like, dare to think of something undone- and do it.
Introduction
My name is Bella Ruiz. I am currently 16 years old and I live in the North of Georgia. 'Project Cayley' is a project that has been in the works for a long time. The project is that in two years, I will solo around the world with the goal of bringing other young girls and boys to aviation. But more importantly, to set an example of always setting a new standard for the people after us.
(I was honored to meet Shaesta Waiz, the youngest woman to solo around the world and later on exchange stories as she gave me tips, advice, and information on an around-the-world trip)
Background
I am a first-generation of immigrant parents and the first pilot in my family. I currently take  classes at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University through Move-on-When-Ready Program. Flying has, in a few words, changed my life. Through the hard times in my life it has brought me peace, a sense of direction, and purpose. It feels almost selfish to keep this treasure to myself. I know there are other kids like me in the world who will find their purpose and identity in aviation. This is where Project Cayley sprouted from.

Project Cayley Details and How You Can Help
The year 2020, when I graduate highschool, I will begin a solo flight around the world. The plan is to make stops around the globe to introduce myself and talk to other kids interested in aviation. I hope to reach kids from all social and financial positions to promote careers and futures in aviation. Maybe, like me, that's all they need. I have already soloed (flying alone) and I keep the financial burden off my family by working 40 hrs a week to pay my own flight training. However, the expenses for an around-the-world-trip are beyond my own capabilities. The first $5,000 will go to flight training necessary for the trip, along with equipment and other necessities. This funding is urgent for progress in the project. In addition, a non-profit charity is in the works for this trip (Project Cayley) but insufficient funds make the process longer than necessary. Once the charity is standing, I will add the link to this page for direct donations.

Every.Donation.Helps!

For the longest time, I have kept a small glass jar in my room collecting coins for this trip. A small but steady flow has really helped me in saving for the trip. Yes, the numbers are large but with any size contribution I will be eternally grateful.
-Sponsor required training equipment, non-profit, memberships, or promotion opportunities with a $5-$100
-Sponsor an hour of flight with a $150-$200 donation. (I will update you with the accomplishments of that flight if requested)
-Sponsor two or more flights with a $200-$1,000 donation. (Will be updated personally with the accomplishments of flights if requested)
-Donations of $1,000 or more will be mentioned on the trip and may receive personal updates on training and the trip.

I thank you for your generosity and for reading my story. It would not be possible without everyone who has helped me along the way.
-Wishing you all clear skies, Bella Ruiz
