Our mission is to effectively encourage once hopeless and addicted Veterans of the United States military, who had lost their footing in society to once again become productive, Godly men with integrity. Our vision and purpose is to guide these men to live by the spiritual principles of God in order to become useful to their families and communities, as husbands and fathers, and hardworking members of the community and society as a whole.
Part of our process on the road to recovery and stability is giving these men temporary housing for 3-6 months, in which time we will help them find employment and permanent housing. We currently have land and a house that can fill the capacity 3-6 Veterans at any given time, but the house is in serious need of repair and renovation. This page has been established in order to receive possible donations in order to complete this project. We have also been approved for a grant from Home Depot in Montgomery, Alabama. They will be supplying all of the materials. This is where you come in. With these donations we plan to:
-Build a foundation for the house.
-Repair/reinforce the structure and walls for the house.
-Install new wiring and plumbing.
-Repair the roof.
All donations will go directly to the charity to pay the contractors needed to complete this endeavor, in which we hope to reach our goal to finish as soon as possible. There are always homeless Veterans that are in need of guidance and rehabilitation; the sooner we can get our house up and running, the more lives we can affect. For more information, please visit our website here.
This is a GoFundMe Certified Charity campaign. This means that money is processed by GoFundMe's nonprofit partner PayPal Giving Fund, and funds are sent directly to the The Prodigal Son's House. As the campaign organizer, I cannot access or manage any of the donations or disbursements.
