Easton's Story

Donation protected
On Monday, June 25, Easton Gregory, who is only 23 years old and the son of Jerome and Karen Gregory, was headed with two best friends to a basketball game in Redhook, New York. What started out as an ordinary workday for Easton and an awesome car ride with his friends, ended abruptly due to a critical car accident. Easton, who was sitting in the back of the car and wearing his seatbelt, took the entire brunt and impact of the crash and he was the only person injured in both vehicles. From that moment on, Easton has been fighting for his life and his Mom and Dad are literally living one moment at a time. Easton was rushed, by ambulance to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was nonresponsive and immediately intubated. Easton has 12 broken ribs, collapsed lungs, numerous perforations, a lacerated liver, a damaged pancreas and both pneumonia and sepsis. There was a desperate urgency to move Easton to Westchester Medical Center, but due to his critical state, it was unsafe to medevac him. However, because of the grave state he was in, it became too critical not to move him. On July 2nd, Easton’s loving parents and family drove silently to Westchester Trauma Center praying that their only child would survive the emergency transport. Easton has been at this Trauma Center since that day. Easton remains in high-critical condition - two hours away from home. His parents have rented an apartment in Rye, New York to be as close as possible to their son during this time of need. Easton is their entire world. Easton remains on a ventilator, ECMO and dialysis. His broken ribs have been plated and he has had numerous blood transfusions. Easton will remain in the Westchester Trauma Center along with his family fighting for his life. His parents will support him through his recovery.
