What is Special about our gems?
-Our gems spend each day affirming themselves and one another saying things like, "I am smart, I am kind, I will use my magnificence to light up the world with love"
-Our gems are learning about practices like yoga and meditation as well as sports like tennis and languages like Spanish and sign language
-Our gems learn responsibility by caring for their personal classroom plant
-Our gems love STORY TIME and all things literary!
-Our gems love making friends! We are in a community that is predominantly African American and our gems love visiting schools and inviting schools from different cultural backgrounds for play dates because, well....they wanna Make America Great Again!
-Our gems create "Happy Mail" that they send to the Elderly and to the sick or to newborns or newlyweds! With so much junk mail and bills we make sure people are getting happy mail too!
Your donation will help:
-buy paint for the walls (we plan to make a giant chalk board wall with all of their affirmations written on it)
-Cubby/Baskets to match our natural classroom for storage, supplies and toys (research shows that classroom set up and materials can affect a child's mood, behavior and ability to learn)
-Sand and Water Table
-New bookshelves to replace the old ones
-BOOKS
-An outdoor classroom space including:
blocks, chalk, tables, sand, paint and sand paper to touch up the structure and outdoor tables
-Laminating Machine with Laminating sheets
-Markers
-Supplies for curriculum and arts/crafts
-Rocking Chair (readers/teachers chair)
-Rug
-Classroom accents
-Plants
Lastly, your donation will help us send a gift to each gem at the start of the year so that they are excited and eager for their school year to start!
