Prayers for Sasha

Sasha's journey began on December 27, 2017. We noticed that she had been losing weight & was very tired all the time so Daddy made her an appointment with our vet, Banfield. They told us that her red & white blood cells were significantly low & that her body was trying to fight some kind of infection. They also told us that she was anemic. They couldnt figure out where her blood was going so they put her on a 10 day antibiotic & on day 10 she was supposed to go in for a check up in hopes that she was all better.
On day 5 of the antibiotic, New Years Day to be exact, Daddy noticed that his Baby Girl was extremely unhappy, in what seemed to be a lot of pain, & refusing to eat. His gut feeling was to take her into the emergency vet so that is what he did. The doctor & nurses checked her out & that is when they found a mass on her abdomen. That night she was sent home on some pain meds to get her through the night until Daddy could get her into the vet the next day for xrays & an ultrasound.
On January 2, 2017 Daddy took her into our vet to have her checked out & explained what has been going on since her visit with them on December 27, 2016. They don't do the required testing that she needed at that office so we were referred to an office to do her Xrays & Ultrasound. The results were the mass on her spleen, her chest was clear & from what they could see so was the rest of her abdomen. That day we were told she was stable & cleared for surgery. After collecting her tests & paper work, we took Sasha back to the emergency vet where her surgery would take place. We met with Dr. West & he went over everything, in detail, about the procedure prior, during, & what to expect after. At approximately 10:30pm that night Sasha went in for a lenghty, stressful surgery. Mommy was sick, Daddy was completely devastated & we got absolutely no sleep that night. We finally received a phone call at 2:15am from the doctor letting us know Sasha had made it through surgery but it was a more complex surgery then he thought & she wasn't doing well so he got what he could out to get her off the table . He also had to give her a blood transfusion because her blood cell levels had dropped significantly. We were told the next 3-4 days would be critical on recovery & a change in her health could happen at anytime.
On January 3, 2017 we got an update from the vet tech. Sasha was more alert this afternoon, still stable, heart beats are normal, she's looking around, she's actually getting up & she has even walked a little for them.
On January 4, 2017 we got a middle of the night phone call. Sasha's red blood cells dropped from 27 to 20. They noticed some blood in her urine so they were going to try to get a sample to test. They did a quick sonogram & didn't see any bleeding. They think its her body rejecting the blood from the blood transfusion so they might have to do another one. She's was still stable.
On January 5, 2017 her red blood cells dropped from 27 in the middle of the night to 19, not good. She is however in better spirits & they're weaning her off the pain meds so she's a tad bit more active. They're definitely concerned about the blood cell count but because she's up & alert, they're not to worried about another blood transfusion until she becomes weak again. She hasn't ate since the day before her surgery & they've been trying to feed her but still refusing. They called Daddy to cook her a special meal & bring it in thinking that will get her to eat. He made baked chicken & white rice took it in & hand fed her, she ate without a problem!
Now that you're heard Sasha's journey that is still not over, we ask that you continue to pray for our Baby Girl & our Family especially. Sasha is our life, she's been by our sides & always makes you better with her cuddles & amazing spirit. There's definitely not another dog out there for her.
With everything that we have been through the past week, we have occurred medical bills that are still piling up. We ask that if you feel the need to help with our Baby Girl, please donate. Even though she may be cleared to come home in the next couple of days, the chance of that mass being cancer still haunts our Family. There's a chance that she may need more treatment adter coming home.
We thank you all for your many prayers & such concern. God bless!
