Lennies Journey

Donation protected
First of all Lennie is from Hillview, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. Lennie is 47 and at the age of 42 he was diagnosed with a lung disease known as PAH or pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. In easier terms "high blood pressure" of the lungs.
Lennie inherited the disease from his mothers side of the family. Lennie is one of 5 siblings. Four of them has the gene and the two youngest of the siblings developed the disease. Lennie being one of them and his sister Faye, who has already gone through having a double lung transplant almost ten and a half years ago. One of Lennies aunts from Port Blandford passed away from the disease and so has one of his cousins from Little Hearts Ease.
Lennie found out in 2010 that he had the disease. We were all devestated. Doctors were able to determine this because of the process of isolating the gene when his sister had the transplant. Normal blood pressure in a healthy person is 25 or less. Since 2010 his pressures have steadily increased to what it is now at 130. The increasing pressure on his lungs has had an effect on his everyday life. Every day things became harder for him to do. Breathing has become so much more difficult with every increase in pressure..he has difficulty climbing stairs, walking on any incline almost anything that a healthy person would take for granted. His partner Denise has taken on the role of shovelling snow and mowing the grass now that Lennie hasn't been able to do it.
Most of you know that Lennie is an interior painter..well known in the Clarenville area has a great painter. He is still trying to keep up with it but he is struggling because of side effects from his medication. He's not the sort of person who gives up easily and he never complains. Now that Lennies lung pressures are way up he has to keep getting his meds increased. The meds aren't a cure it's just to keep the pressures steady. A double lung transplant is the only cure....and that is where we are now...his records have been sent to Toronto. A series of other things will take place when the team of doctors reviews his medical records. There isn't a date set for transplant yet, only the experts will know that once they review the medical information. All of that brings us to this point...FUNDRAISING
This is going to cost the family a major amount of money..airfare, rental unit, cabs and bills etc and I am sure there will be more expense  while they are in Toronto. NO DONATION IS TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL.
Thank you in in advance for your support through this difficult time and we would appreciate any and all donations towards Lennies double lung transplant.
