Possum's Preschool Flood Donation

My name is Joanne Fergus and I am the secretary of the parent's committee for Possum's community preschool located in Murwillumbah. Along with the director of the preschool the committee oversees the running of the school.
On March 28th, 2017, Possums preschool along with our surrounding community was flooded due to Cyclone Debbie. We awoke the following day to a scene of utter devastation and now that the waters have receded we realise the extent of the damage associated with this natural disaster at our beloved Preschool. We have had about 20 cm waters though the building and our beautiful backyard area used by our children resembled a lake. The damage was most extensive to our garden (and associated play areas), the back fence bordering Tweed Valley Way, our storage sheds housing all our play equipment and also in the building. We have lost electrical equipment such as the vacuum, photocopier, leaf blower and more. Unfortunately we have found out that Possums Insurance doesn’t extend to flood cover and as a community run not for profit preschool this is pretty devastating. We need your help to be able to raise enough money to help replace some of these essential items for the school.
We need to replace Shelves, Tables, chairs, Toys, Art Supplies, Storage Units, Stationery, outside play equipment, chicken coop, bunny hatch, Vaccum cleaner, Ipads, gardening equipment, fridge, fence and so much more as nearly everything has been conaminated with water that has had sewerage in it.
The money that we raise will be deposited directly into Possum's preschool bank account so that the preschool can access the funds immediately. The Preschool is such an important part of the community it is a matter of urgency that we are able to get back up and running as soon as possible. We can do that with your help.
