God often places people on my heart. I hear stories, I meet people, and sometimes it can be a total stranger. I’m going to introduce you to Porter. When I heard about his story, I just couldn’t shake it. I instantly wanted to help! God stirred up my soul and I know he will continue to do so until I decide to move and let God do what he does. ❤️
Porter is a 6 year old boy from Greentown. He is an amazing kid!! Just look at that smile!!!! Porter works hard every day to do things so many of us take for granted: talking, walking, being independent. His mom is his full-time caretaker, as his seizures can come on at any given time & unfortunately are quite frequent. Their current transportation, an old van, is no longer a viable option.
As I thought hard & prayed about this whole situation, I kept telling God, this is such a huge amount of money. I’ve never attempted anything this big!!!! There is NO WAY this can be accomplished (let alone quickly).....and then a peace came over me. I’m reminded that HE is BIGGER than any obstacle, & that we live in an amazing community with VERY generous people. God is in this and I have to trust him! Whenever I have asked in the past, HE has provided! So....I’m putting it out there and trusting in him.
Erik’s Chevrolet has the perfect van that includes a wheelchair ramp for Porter. It just recently came available & I’m told a van like this at this price is very hard to come by.
I have been told that if we can raise a quick $1,000 they will hold it for me. But the rest of the $21,000 will have to come soon.
God keeps nudging me to act on this and to reach out to see if I/we can help raise the money to bless this family in a huge way.
Are you willing to help? Will you please share this with your small groups, your church, your friendship rings, your friends at work? ANY amount will do. There’s 40,000+ people in our community. This is such a huge ask, but I’m asking faithfully that 1,100 people donate $20. There’s NO WAY I can do this alone. I need your help! Please share!!!
