Everyday Conversations on RaceforEveryday People is a podcast that brings people together across race and culture for open comfortable conversations about race in a casual setting to close the racial divide.

We are a country and a world divided by race, but we don’t have to be. We can change it.
Most people are afraid to talk about race, except within their own group. They either don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, or say the wrong thing and be called racist, or they’re afraid of being discounted and trivialized by people who are racist. So often people say nothing and avoid each other.

The Plan and Your Help
It takes time and money,
to provide a quality show and demonstrate how to have a cross-race conversation. These conversations are possible, essential and urgent for our survival.

I’ve gathered a diverse team of advisors to get other perspectives and help with strategy.  Our plan is:
• Expand to video and other platforms

• Create in-person and virtual global conversations on small and large scale

• Raise money with relevant sponsors, partners and social impact investors

The greater our numbers, the more potential we have to eliminate racism, fear, and hate.

Your financial support will help sustain and grow the podcast, build a foundation of listeners, and record great shows to bring people together across difference.

Where will your money go?
Your contribution will help sustain the program for the next three months so we can focus on growth. Your funds will pay for:
recording, editing and post-production expenses
• marketing and getting our message out to social media, website maintenance
• subscriptions to podcast hosting platforms and distribution sites  • administrative help with research, managing guests and scheduling
• recording space rental

No amount is too small.
Even contributing just $5.00 can make a difference.
Our Mission

Our mission is to disrupt the way race is talked about, break racial silos and have a global impact on how people see each other. We want to eliminate fear of differences, racism and hate, and promote love, empathy and collaboration.

The Story Behind the Podcast
I grew up in the Bronx, and have been around people from different cultures and races most of my life.My family is interracial, interfaith and inter everything in between.

After I graduated high school I began working for social change as part of the Young Patriots, a White group started with the help of the Black Panthers and Young Lords.

I saw how people from different cultures working together as peers and friends can be models of collaboration, and help others let go of fear, racism and hate.

I realized  if we don’t have meaningful interactions with each other, and share stories and solutions we are doomed. I decided to take action by organizing dialogues across differences.

Seeing the difference that these small, robust conversations made locally, I was inspired to look for ways to have a greater impact beyond where I live and work.

My Dream
It had always been my dream to find a way to bring as many people as possible from different races, cultures and backgrounds together to build
encouragement and connections without fear, shame and blame, and with respect, curiosity and trust.

With the contributions of several colleagues who believed in the podcast mission and me, I was able to  buy equipment, find great guests and begin recording. Your contributions will continue to help it grow.

The Format
People from different backgrounds share stories, experiences and thoughts on race, current social issues and pop culture happenings.

Guests are all ages from very young to very old, immigrants, students, formerly incarcerated, executives, hourly employees, social activists, hip-hop artists, athletes and media. It’s serious, funny, and insightful.

When listeners hear a 78-year-old Black Woman in conversation with a 25-year-old Asian woman, hosted by a Jewish white woman, sharing their personal experiences with race, while laughing, connecting and hearing each other, they see what’s possible, and become less afraid.  They become curious about people who don’t look like them.

We've raised almost $500.00 which will help with editing, recording, posting and renting recording space. Every time I get discouraged, I get an email or a call from someone who heard an episode and I get re-energized. We have shows coming up with senior execs, young hip-hop artists, educators, journalists, people who have been in the criminal justice system, music critics and other really interesting people. I'd love to hear any ideas you may have, and any other fundraising ideas. We have almost 1500 downloads!
