Hi my names Mariah Tejones. I’m a 14 year old girl from Cobram, a small town in country Victoria. I am currently a finalist of Miss teen galaxy Australia, part of my participation is raising money for a charity. My chosen charity is make a wish foundation as it is very close to my heart.
I have personally been a frequent flyer to the royal children’s hospital all my life but in the past 3 years more regularly under going 6 major surgeries. Whilst my time there I have seen first hand what the effects of serious illness has on children, and their family and friends.
Everyday, 6 families around Australia find out their child has a life threatening medical condition. The make a wish foundation Australia was founded in 1985, and now in its 30th year have granted over 8,000 wishes to children with life threatening illnesses. It gives very sick children and teenagers a hope for their future, and for themselves and their family the strength to face the challenges of their illness. With a small donation you could help another child have their wish granted and help put a smile on a sick child’s face.
