Please help BB :(

Over the weekend, our cat BB came home with an injured back leg.  After a visit to the vet and xrays, we were told that he most likely got hit by a car and has broken his femur in about 6 places and displaced his kneecap :(  I am devastated. To repair this with surgery is expected to cost a minimum of $4000, and the other option is amputation which would cost around $1500 but I'm finding it so hard to deal with that emotionally. Even though I know cats do adjust to only having 3 limbs, it's too upsetting for me to even think about.  I'm still trying to get other opinions/quotes but I'm now being bullied into making an immediate decision by the first vet! Regardless of which option we choose to take, there is no way we can afford to do either as we have been though some hard times these past few years. We have already spent a few hundred on a consultation, xrays and pain relief but to get this resolved will be so much more. He is only 2 years old and I want to give our beautiful boy the care he deserves. We hate asking for anything (especially money) but our cats mean the world to us and are part of the family.
