Help Save Home of Uncle and Family

We are on the verge of losing our home of 18 years. In 2014 I was diagnosed with Stage 2-Triple Negative Breast Cancer and then at the end of 2015, Alex my husband was diagnosed with Stage 3b Lung Cancer and was initially only given 2 months to live. Our 2 teenage sons were born and grew up here all their lives. We have struggled with many challenges thru those years and the 25 years we've been married. Yet somehow we've always been able to make it thru, until now.

After I was diagnosed, I had surgery to remove the cancer, started chemo treatments and today I can say I am cancer free!! (Screams, F.U. Cancer!) During this time, we juggled our bills with Alex's paychecks. We had gotten behind on the mortgage and applied & received a mortgage modification to help us get current on payments.

Then, tragedy struck again. My husband had lung cancer and the prognosis was grim. We were told the tumor was too large for surgery or radiation at 9.5 cm. He has since had 6 rounds of chemo, which shrunk the tumor to 7.3cm.  He is currently undergoing immunotherapy in the hopes of shrinking it further. Thankfully he has outlived his initial prognosis.

We went to the bank once again to ask for help, but were denied another modification because we had already received one. We were paying our expenses with both our 401k's which ran out months ago and he is now permanently disabled because of the cancer.

You might think it better for us to give up on this place & move on, but we've been here 18 years. Raised our kids here, this is our home. The house itself is in need of repairs and upgrades, but we do have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 bedrooms and a large yard that we've planted fruit trees, a big vegetable garden and until recently raised chickens for meat & eggs. There is no other place near or far that can come close to the less than $1100 per month house payments. We can't afford to move.

The money raised will be used to bring us current on the house payments. Anything more than that will pay for school clothes for the boys, other unpaid bills, and car and house repairs.

It is a lot to ask, but ask we must because we can't do it ourselves anymore. Anything you can do to help us during this rough time will be great appreciated.
