Our beautiful friend Orlagh Hanratty had a serious accident in New Zealand on Thursday the 7th of February. Orlagh is a Bray native that many of you will know  and some of you may also know her Dad Tommy  from Everest Cycles in Bray.

Tommy and Jenny received the phone call that every parent dreads,  their daughter has been in an accident on the other side of the world.. Tommy & Jenny are now with Orlagh in New Zealand.

This is the beginning of a long journey of recovery as the full extent of her injuries are still unknown.

We want to support Orlagh in whatever way we can. She will need her Mum & Dad  by her side indefinitely.

We are trying to raise funds to  support Orlagh in her rehabilitation and take some of the worry away.

If there is any way you can help please do.

Please share this, get it far and wide.

Orlagh has always lived life to the full and would help anyone, it is now our time to help her .

Thank You

I just wish to thank everyone I know that has supported me and my family through what has been probably the most frightening time of our lives. To Keith for setting up a fund for Orlagh.Initially I said no but people strictly said it was not for me and to shut up.Everyone has been so generous (some people over generous and I will have to talk to them about that)and so so supportive. It is quite humbling to know that we have such amazing friends and family that rallied around in such a terrible time.Time now is what Orlagh needs. Her short term memory needs some work as does her broken bones.Every one that knows her knows what a determined strong brave girl she is.She is now reading and even trying to return texts on her phone,Next week she gets transferred to. Rehab hospital for brain and other injuries and are letting us stay in a room to be close to her which she really does need.Thank you one and all once again from the bottom of my heart.

This is my first time to do this sort of thing so not sure of all the rules.

Go fund me have asked me to clarify some things on an update to enable me to withdraw and send the funds so please see below

1.How you are related to your beneficiary

Friend & Neighbour

2. You are withdrawing the funds in your name
How exactly you will be delivering the funds to your beneficiary or using the money on their behalf

I will be sending by bank transfer to Orlaghs family.

If anybody would like to see a receipt of the transaction when it happens please message the page.

We have just received a quick update from Tommy & Jenny re orlagh progress
She has fractures to face & jaw and will need operations
Some internal damage to lungs & liver, broken ribs . However positive news she has no spinal injuries and only small amount of bleeding to the brain. She is still in intensive care but has opened her eyes briefly and squeezed their hand. Orlagh has a battle ahead of her but she really is strong and her family are all feeling very positive. Her mum and dad cannot thank everyone enough for all the support and prayers they have received they are immensely grateful to everyone
