Last Thursday the unimaginable happened for the beautiful Townsend family, Casey a hardworking 31 year old fiancé and father to 3 young children arrived to his night shift, upon arrival he started feeling dizzy and disorientated, within a few minutes he was falling in and out of consciousness, by the time the ambulance arrived he was fully unconscious which lead to Case being put into an induced coma.

Friday morning his Dr decided to take out of the induced coma expecting him to wake within the hour ... but he didn’t. During this time the Dr’s were performing extensive tests to try and figure out what has happened but still had no answers.

Case finally regained consciousness late Friday night but was very disorientated, not being able to speak properly and suffering from memory loss and poor hand - eye coordination.

Further tests were conducted and a few days later it was confirmed Case had a stroke.

In the early hours of this morning our poor Case was found on the ground of his hospital room after suffering a much worse stroke overnight.

His beautiful fiancé Sharna has been by his side along with his family who have been taking turns looking after their 3 gorgeous children Sienna, Sonny and Ellie who range in age from 6 years – 11 months.

Case will be in hospital indefinitely as he requires rehabilitation and therapy to retrain his brain for his cognitive impairment, loss of memory, speech and communication skills and hand eye coordination.

We are trying to do our bit to relieve the stress for Sharna by raising money to help their young family to pay their mortgage and bills, one less thing for Sharna to worry about after already postponing their much anticipated wedding in February 2019.

We all know Case as the guy with the biggest smile, the guy that would do anything for his friends and family and even strangers, he’s always looking out for everyone now it’s time for us to help him.

We are asking you to help whether its sacrificing your daily cup of coffee, those new shoes you have your eye on or as much as your budget allows, every bit helps, no donation is too small and will so greatly be appreciated. Please also SHARE SHARE SHARE this post.

Please keep Case and his family in your prayers

My name is Angie Katu, I've known the Townsend family for over 20 years, met on the Gold Coast in 1999.

I've been close family friends for many years and grown up with and loved every one of them.

Casey Townsend lost his short battle on the 9th of June 2019, the funds raised will continue to go directly to Sharna Townsend, Casey’s wife to ease the pressure from Sharna and her 3 children with bills, mortgage and funeral expenses whilst they grieve the sad passing of her husband and their loving Father.

Whilst scanning for the damage to caseys brain caused by the strokes on the 8th October 2018 Casey unfortunately was diagnosed with a Tumor on the left hand side of his brain. It was at that moment that Sharna decided she was to marry the love of her life... two days later they exchanged vows in a beautiful private ceremony in the courtyard of the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Casey finally got to come home after a number of months in hospital and just one week before Christmas Casey was taken to hospital with shortness of breath. In their wildest dreams what proceeded to happen was unimaginable... Casey had suffered a cardiac arrest whilst in the emergency department where they managed to resuscitate him and things started to relax then he went into cardiac arrest for the second time in a few short hours... You can just imagine the heartache and pain this was causing, 17 Doctors and specialists worked on Casey whilst Sharna and the family watched in horror, they managed to resuscitate him for a second time. Baffled at his resillience and once Casey was stabilised, he was transferred to Prince Charles Hospital in ICU. It was a very challenging time for Sharna and Casey's family as all they could do is sit and wait whilst they were told it would be unlikely that he would wake from this, but, they were blessed with a miracle when in the morning they were met with Casey's baby blues.
Again Casey seemed to baffle doctors with his will to live. Casey's heart is now in failure and he is awaiting a heart transplant, with medication and close surveillance from his specialists Casey's heart is pumping at around 10-15 percent... it's a long and very unknown road ahead as he prepares for the next challenge with rehabilitation weekly and all his work up appointments.... Obviously still unable to work and Sharna now being his full time carer this beautiful young family needs financial support....with everyone's continued support at least we can alleviate some pressure from them as they face their future together xxx

On behalf of Sharna, Case and their family's we would like to express how absolutely blown away we are at the outpouring of love and generosity you have all shown.

This post has been shared 2053 times, and has been viewed 21,373 times, imagine if every person that read their story donated just $10 ... remember no donation is a small donation and will help this gorgeous family immensely.

At this stage Casey's progress is going up and down. He has suffered multiple minor seizures which can be a repercussion from the strokes, which has been another set back for him in seeing any improvement.
They are monitoring that closely in order to move forward with his treatment.

Please keep sharing and donating, everyone is loving reading the messages of support.
