Please help Bekah and her Family!!

My almost 22 year old niece Bekah (Dan’s sister’s daughter who I’ve know since she was 6) was in a near fatal car accident at 1:55am early Saturday.  She is still (as of this writing on 8/27) in the ICU after an 8 hour surgery yesterday and she's in surgery again right now as I write this.  After her surgeris, and skin grafts, she still has a looooong way to recovery, as you'll read below, including at least a week in the hospital, adapting to a wheelchair for the foreseeable future, finding furniture to support her living downstairs, and dental work that will come later.

She is the 2nd oldest of 7 AMAZING, humble, genuine, loving and kind children. The best family on earth I am sure of it - seriously they are amazing and I am SO LUCKY to call them MY family through marrying Bekah's mom's (Lisa) brother Dan.

Bekah was not found until 5:30am, approximately 3 hours after hitting the power line and rolling around, managing to get herself off the hood of the car and out of the glass, where she then rolled around screaming in the grass and mud until someone found her on their morning run at 5am.

She quickly spun off the road and hit a power line pole head on.  She was ejected from the car (thank goodness because I don't think she'd be with us had she remained in the car because it is absolutely crushed).  God was with her for sure and she fought through because of her love for her family.  Some of the siblings went to the site of the accident and there was no blood.  Her lacertations were down to the bone and through muscle, but no blood at the scene, even though she was covered when she arrived at the hospital.  I told Lisa yesterday, if anyone doesn't believe in God, just tell them this story.

Her hair was found on the pole. Her injuries are agonizingly tragic and include a fracture neck vertebrae, lacerations on her liver, lacerations on her leg in two places (almost to the bone) - all the way around her knee and a huge gash they couldn't even close during surgery yesterday right near that main artery in your leg, 5 broken ribs, a broken scapula, two strokes!!! (omgosh), and torn nerves and ligaments in her hand affecting the mobility of her two middle fingers at this point. Her arm was also completely severed and will need skin grafts and more surgeries.  All of her teeth were chipped and dental work will be expensive in the coming months once she's through the more life threatening tragedy.

I know I am writing very candidly, and I don't mean to upset her friends, family, relatives or community.  But for everyone who shares this, it reaches many more people and I want them to understand the gravity of the accident.

I am setting up this GoFundMe account because the family really really needs all the financial support they can get.  Bekah's dad just finished paying off the bills from his heart surgery two years ago and they support 7 children!!!, including a 2 year old who they fostered and then adopted.  Adoption runs through our family.

My goal is to raise $40,000 to cover her approximate medical costs (they have a very high out of pocket maximum because they have so many kids and do not work for large corporations).  We also need to raise money to pay for her rent while she moves back in with her parents for a while, the dental work which won't be covered and the list goes on, including her parents being out of work to take care of her, her car, etc.).

The whole family really needs all the prayers and support they can get as they adjust their lives for a few months.  Bekah doesn't even realize at this point what all has happened  They are the most lovely family and I cherish them.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find it in your HEARTS to help them financially and through prayer.  Remember, we are a VILLAGE and it sometimes takes a village to get through something as tragic as this.

Hug your loved ones and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us raise this money so they don’t have to worry about how to manage and stress over all that and can focus on getting Bekah well and back to a new normal!!  If you aren't able to donate, please PRAY and SHARE this with your network!!!!  And tag anybody and everybody who knows Bekah and her family!

I promise you, this money will go toward a wonderful family, who is near and dear to me, and many others who will share this on their facebook walls.  And TRUST me, the money is truly going to what they need.  They have tons of family and community support but we can't do this without raising money.  Karma and God will pay you back, ten fold.
