Place of Healing Renovation

Donation protected
Hello,
Please let me start by introducing myself. My name is Sharon Pointon, and together with my dear friend Pam Aulich, we volunteer to distribute food, toiletries & clothes to the homeless, men & women's domestic violence hostels, men & women straight out of jail and basically anyone in need.

We have recently become involved in a new project, which is by far, the biggest project we have taken on & we would love to have you on board to support this amazing venture.

We are aiming to raise funds for the renovation of one of the only men's drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres based in the Adelaide Hills. It's called The facility is run by a non-profit organisation & assist both indigenous & non-indigenous clients.

It can house up to 15 men at one time and the clients can stay as long as needed for their own recovery. Anything from 3 months to over a year. This is not only for drug & alcohol recovery, but also to improve their own mental health and their social & emotional wellbeing. It's a place of healing, recovery & hope. Many of these men have had less than ideal upbringings, with many experiencing child abuse & horrendous backgrounds.

Because the organisation is non-profit, they do not have the funding for a much needed upgrade of the 2 separate dormitories in which the men sleep. They have not been upgraded in over ten years.

We have four Bunnings stores that are donating all the paint to paint the interior walls of the dorms, as well as providing qualified painters. Westlakes/Seaton Lions Club have also very kindly donated $1000 towards the makeover.

What we are aiming to achieve is, to do a makeover of the two dormitories to cater for 15 men. So we are in need of 15 brand new items; Such as, 15 single bed ensembles, 15 single bed sheets sets, 15 quilts, 15 quilt cover sets, 30 pillows, 15 tallboys, 15 bedside drawers & 15 bedside floor mats.

This is where you come in Anyone who donates, will receive an official certificate of appreciation. We are hoping to raise $5000 to go towards the purchase of the above mentioned items, in the hope of creating a peaceful space for these men to recover. Even the smallest donation can go a long way to making a difference in their lives.

The men will be taken camping for 3 days, while we all go in & revamp their dormitories. The Bunnings care team will be painting on the 28th of March, so the new furniture will be set up & the decorating will be done on the 29th of March. When the men return, they'll have newly painted rooms with all new items in them. This will show them that people do care about them & give them hope for a better future. And make their pathway forward much more comfortable & brighter.

for more information on this project, please contact myself or Pam on the phone numbers below.

We greatly appreciate any contribution you can make towards our project, and it will go a long way in uplifting the spirits of the men recovering at the farm.

Regards,
Sharon Pointon.
