Urgent surgery! Help Tank the dog!

Donation protected

My name is Tank I am 16 months old and I am in a lot of pain. My right hip hurts really bad (or is it my right knee??? As of 1/28, no one seems to be sure)  either from hip dysplasia or a knee ligament tear, or possibly both. I NEED SURGERY IN ORDER TO REGAIN FULL FUNCTION AND BE ABLE TO LIVE A NORMAL DOGGIE LIFE FOR MANY MORE YEARS TO COME.

It's been one month since the original injury that caused this trauma - I was playing at the dog park when another dog attacked me and I injured my leg trying to run away from him. Will you help me have my surgery? If I don't get it, I will live the rest of my life on a leash, never able to walk for more than 20 minutes at a time when I wanna run-run-run and chase rabbits in the mesa. I am way too young to feel this old :-(

4 months ago, my new mom went to the city shelter, ready to adop a dog after 6 years of grieving her first pup. She looked at me and it was love at first sight. She pulled me from the shelter where I had just spent 8 months after being found roaming the streets as a teeny-weeny pup. I was 20 pounds underweight and really scared back then. Other people had tried to adopt me before her but the shelter turned them down because they knew I could not live in an apartment and needed lots of exercise. Thankfully, my mom convince them she could give me all the attention I need and so off in her red car I went.

My new mom is super, she takes me on long walks, takes me to the dog park to socialize with other dogs and she even took me to Civilized Canine class at Animal Humane. Now she and I are the best team and she hopes to continue my schooling to become a "Warm Hearts dog" (https://animalhumanenm.org/outreach/warm-hearts-network/)
, visiting hospitals, retirement homes etc etc...  I know I am in a bad way because I can't run much anymore and I can't jump in the back of the car  and I limp when I walk. Unless I have the surgery, I will  have to be on pain medication (which is really bad for my liver) for the rest of my life.  My vet information is below with additional details about what's wrong with me. Please, will you help me get another chance at puppy life? Woof :( -Tank

Estimated cost:
Low End: $3500
High End: $4500

Vet Information:
Eubank Animal Clinic
Eubank Boulevard NE
Albuquerque, NM 87112
Tank needs a  TPO surgery  with possible ligament reconstruction.

I have included a picture of Tank's X-rays for those who are interested.  You can see the righ hip (left side in the picture) is almost out of the socket.

Pet insurance will not cover this surgery because it is considered a "pre-existing condition" :-(

WHAT HELP  TANK HAS HAD AT THE VET. SO FAR:

I took Tank to Eubank Animal Clinic to be examined. It was determined he needed x-rays to finalize the diagnostic. Tank was put under and x-rayed, with the final diagnostic being as described above.

Next Vet appointment: Thursday 1/28  2016  - update then (see update #5)

This surgery is way beyong anything I can afford, but I did get him set up on a pre-op blood panel , and a prescription of Rimadyl, which allows him to walk without too much pain.  The sooner he gets the surgery, the better his chances of a full recovery.

Any help (small donation and/or forwarding the campain to your own network) will be appreciated beyond anything words can convey. If by any chance, Tank and I are able to raise enough money for him to have the surgery AND there is some left over, whatever is left will be donated to  Watermelon Ranch, an ABQ area no-kill rescue center ( http://www.wmranch.org/).

Thank you so much in advance.
