Jeremy's Journey

On February 7th, my brother Jeremy Garard was critically injured in a skiing accident as he vacationed with his family and wife in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was Gods providence that allowed me to witness this horrific accident. Had I not been there, his body would of never been found among the trees and snow.
He was airlifted to the trauma unit in Santa Fe where they identified a lacerated liver, broken ribs, punctured lung, both hips dislocated and shattered and a broken back. We clearly see the hand of God in his survival of this accident.
Jeremy and Lauren, who have just been recently married this past June, are facing an incredibly long journey ahead of them. The nature of his injuries force them to remain in New Mexico far from home in Springfield, Missouri. They are strong in their faith and know that God is with them throughout this difficult time.
My brother is unable to speak for himself so I am speaking as an advocate for both Jeremy and Lauren. Jeremy is a combat veteran and has given so much of his life to serving all of us. I am asking that each of us give back and serve him and Lauren in their greatest hour of need. The need in this situation is so great when you consider:
•The nature of his injuries
•Cost of living expenses for living in Sante Fe long term
•All their current bills and mortgage in Springfield, Mo.
•Sustaining them both financially while neither one can work over the many months ahead
•Flying immediate family back and forth to care for and encourage them both through his recovery
•Medical transport flight to relocate them for physical therapy
•And finally, the huge expense of therapy at a neuro rehabilitation center to address his spinal injuries
God has shown himself to all of us in so many ways already. The prayers, encouragement and support have been overwhelming. I know the need is great but so is our God! He will carry them through to the end. May He be Glorified through all of this.
