This is Pinit(Oom) Sutthithepa with his 2 year old daughter Lydia and 6 year old son Pasta.  Oom is in his third year at Toyota of Santa Barbara, I am his supervisor.  He is an exceptional employee, a great husband and loving father.  His family means everything to him.  Until Tuesday morning January 9th, 2018 at approximately 4am, he lived with his wife Yuphawan(Aw), his mother Banphoem(Perm), his step-father Loring (Richard Taylor) and his relative Sirithorn Janthorntho (May) on 1217 E Valley Road, Montecito, CA.  At 4am the house was obliterated by mud, boulders and rushing water.  Literally nothing is left.  Oom and Lydia are still missing.  Pasta's body was recovered Tuesday.  Loring's body was recovered Tuesday.  Aw and Perm were at work at Von's during the tradegy and survived.  May was rescued by members of the Montecito Fire Department around 6am Tuesday Morning.
This family has lost everything but the clothes they were wearing.   Clothing, food, shelter and comfort has been provided by the families' employers, friends and teachers(thank you Lisa Ishikawa!).
But this family needs significant funding to move forward with their lives.  We are hoping to raise $25,000.00 to assist them during the coming days of this tragedy and to help rebuild their lives in the months ahead.  Because of the sudden nature of this event, time is of the essence.
On behalf of Aw and Perm, I thank you very much.

To our GoFundMe and Santa Barbara community. It has been 3 months (March 9th) since the mudslide/debris flow that so severely impacted Montecito. We would like to again thank you for the support that you gave to the Suttithepta, Nordeen and Taylor families. With your help, they have been able to begin rebuilding their lives while simultaneously honoring Richard, Oom, Pasta and Lydia. Most of the family is in Thailand, involved in ceremonies that honor and pay respect to their loved ones. In the face of having lost absolutely everything, they are moving ahead as best as one could hope.

Sadly little Lydia remains missing and we hope with the continued efforts of clearing mud and debris she can be located. We talk to the family weekly, and their first question is always about Lydia. It would give them great comfort if she could be found - hopefully as the cleanup continues - with the help of Montecito’s Bucket Brigade, their final hope of finding Lydia will be realized. There is still a lot of cleanup to be done and we have hope someone will notice little angel during the clean up process.

Perm, May and Aw plan to come back to Santa Barbara within the next few months. Again, our sincerest thanks for helping to make their long journey as easy as possible. They are extremely grateful.

We are two months from the mudslide that took Oom, Loring, Pasta and Lydia from us.
With your generosity and the help of so many in the community, the three survivors of this family began the process of rebuilding their lives.
The gracious people at the Shoreline Community Church provided a two bedroom apartment for the three ladies for residence during their recovery.
Their newly made support group (Lisa, Wanda, Margarita, Daniel, David, Alan/Kanlaya, Freya, Mike and many others) helped rebuild all that was lost, from bank accounts to passports to insurance to food and clothing.
Incredible support came from the Cold Springs School teachers, faculty and families, Albertson/Vons, Toyota of Santa Barbara and many many others - thank you to all.
Freya held a beautiful memorial at the Museum of Natural history for her father Loring. Family and friends from around the country came for the ceremony.
Pasta's skate coach Patti put on an incredible tribute to Pasta at Ice in Paradise in Goleta.
The Santa Barbara Zoo graciously hosted a memorial for Oom, Pasta and Lydia. Oom was remembered by his co-workers, Pasta's classmates made a touching appearance and Aw's memories of her family were shared.
May is recovering from the wounds inflicted upon her during the slide. While she moved slowly at first, she rebounded nicely.
As of today, Lydia is unfortunately still missing.
The three ladies, Aw, Perm and May are in Thailand and have been with family for the past 3 weeks.
Communication has been difficult with May and Perm. But Aw emails, face-times and texts frequently. From all accounts she has found peace at home with her family, and as the days pass this peace is slowly moving toward happiness. She says she dreams of Oom and her children every night and these dreams make her happy. She says she is comfortable and needs nothing. She has made merit and prays regularly. With her permission some of the photos are attached.

Again, thank you to everyone for you generosity, your prayers and kind words.

Today the family learned Pinit’s body was discovered by Firefighters. Now only Lydia is missing. Of course Aw and Perm held hopes he would be rescued and your generation donations could be used to start their lives over. But today’s news brings even greater despair to them. Without Oom the family faces even greater challenges in the future. As the reality of this tragedy evolves, the impact on the family escalates. No amount of money can alleviate the pain, but your generosity and the number of people donating and sharing their thoughts and prayers is truly helping them work through this. The picture attached is where their home once stood. Where the family last enjoyed dinner together, at 9pm Monday night, now there is nothing.
We thank you for your support.
