PHYLICIA MALOMBI CANCER SUPPORT

Donation protected
Phylicia Mwambavala is a single mother of 4 children ages 5, 6, 11 & 15, who is at present battling Cancer and in need of our help. She is a hardworking mom who has been through so much adversity but has remained strong in her faith in God. Phylicia is a victim and a survivor of many years of domestic violence. She has lived in homeless shelters on multiple occasions related to domestic violence, but about 6 years ago, after staying in the shelter for over 3 years, she worked hard and was able to leave the shelter. She secured an apartment where she moved in with her 4 children and started working as a Certified Nurses Assistance (CNA) and also substituted her income by making native bread called “Chapati” that she sold to friends and their families in her community to provide for her family.  After a few months of settling down and giving her family a stable, loving, safe home, Phylicia had an injury to her right shoulder and had to take time off work to undergo surgery. Recovery was long and as a result, she fell behind in her bills and was served with an eviction notice from her apartment that she and her children call HOME.

Pain to the right shoulder persisted even after surgery and therapy and moved to her left shoulder and to her chest, and her doctor recommended mammogram which is the study of the breast using x-ray.  Phylicia was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. This news has devastated her and her already fragile family, but God continues to uphold them through prayers and loving support from family and friends. Phylicia is scheduled for surgery to remove her breasts also know as double mastectomy. At present, Phylicia is off work indefinitely and need our financial help. The greatest fear of her beautiful little girls ages 5 & 6 is to go back to a shelter should they get evicted especially as the holiday season approaches. As Friends of Phylicia, we are appealing to you all to be the answered prayer for these children and their mother during this dark season. Let us give these Children hope. Let’s take the financial burden off their shoulder through our generous giving. Let us support their mom in prayers and giving in her recovery. May God bless you as you bless this family though your generous giving. Shalom.
