Thank you everyone for the amount of support you have shown Harper & Hendrix! As everyone found out a couple of weeks ago, they got diagnosed with a terminal type of muscular dystrophy known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 2. Half of children with SMA don't live past their 2nd birthday. We are fortunate to have Harper and Hendrix laughing, playing and growing!
A lot is going to change for the Ramos household! My brother is a stay at home dad and my sister in law works as a teacher for the Kennewick School District! Having twins with SMA has been difficult for them as parents.
I realized yesterday, they need a lot of help! Just the amount of money is gonna cost for one child with SMA let alone two! Sometimes ppl don't ask for help because of pride but the Ramos Family is in need! Anything will help! So I decided as his sister to do it for them and most of all for my nephews!
They need to update their home!
Put in Ramps, wheel chairs, SMA vest & shorts for support, bigger hallways, traveling expensive to medical appointments to Children's Hospital in Seattle! SMA equipment they would need that the insurance don't cover. We want to raise some money for the CureSMA Conference in 2016!
They are learning from other SMA families of what is ahead for them! The unknown is scary but with love, hope and a fight , we will Smash SMA & get through this as a family!
