Abuse & Cancer - Help Petey/ Kaiser
Meet Petey and Kaiser. On the surface they look happy and healthy but each of them have hurdles to cross. Forget Me Not Animal Rescue is dedicated to helping them! As one of the rescue team, this is extremely important to us.
Petey was beaten, neglected and tormented. He has suffered trauma so severe that it has left him with permanent neurological problems, shattered knee caps, patellas that need repair, anxiety and fear. While his past will never be completely known, the evidence speaks for itself. The damage was missed by one vet preventing us from obtaining a grant to assist with care. We need your help to help Petey. He needs surgery to correct the injuries inflicted upon him to the tune of $3,000. This surgery will relieve his pain and correct some of the damage. His "mom" is healing his heart and giving him all the love he can handle. This 2 year old has a long life to live but to do that to the best of his ability, he needs medical help now! Update: Petey went in for surgery and it was found his medical needs were far more extensive and his hips need replacement/repair. The vet didn't do the surgery while we figure out new treatment to give him the best life possible and as pain free as possible. New estimate $8,000
Kaiser was found as a stray and we suspect abandoned because he may have cancer. It's obvious that he had a family at some point. He loves kids, other dogs, car rides and cuddles..yet he was tossed away left to his own devices. Kaiser is an older guy, about 8 years old but he's full of life and love right now.
Upon physical palpation, the vet noted several growths under his skin. Because of the number of them, it is likely that if these are cancer growths, it is most likely systemic (throughout his body) which will be a poor prognosis. So we decided to aspirated 2 of the larger and more suspicious growths. Here is the good news. The larger growth on his belly was just a cyst, which really surprised the vet. So we have some hope. We are waiting on results of the aspiration test on the other growth. Our goal is to give him the best life possible and treat him if we can or give him pallative care and keep him happy for as long as we can. HIS LIFE IS NOT OVER.

We believe both these boys deserve all the love in the world and the best care that we can provide them. They haven't given up living and loving and we ARE NOT giving up on them!
