Pete Lando Veteran Family Fund

Just as Pete reaches out for his wife Chelle's hand please reach out and help this Viet Nam Veteran and his family.

Pete just had back surgery after 50 years of pain.  He was tossed by morter blast and landed on his back.  He has had stomach cancer as a result of exposure to Agent Orange and has had several surgeries and been at death's door 4 times already.  Because they had to admitt him through Emergency at University Hospital; due to uncontollable pain, they did not have a VA Choice referral in place yet.  So they had to pay a $500 copay.  Pete had been scheduled several times for surgery at the VA, but the surgeries have been cancelled due to issues at the VA.  Finally he was in so much pain he could wait no longer.  Thank God they admitted him.  Thank God they did the surgery and helped him.

Pete should be coming home in a week or so and needs to come home to a safe environment.

That includes carpet that he won't trip on and their's is old, gaping and coming up in places, but they can't afford new, so they have glued and taped it up.

He will need reliable transportation to PT visits and VA visits and his van is currently not safe to drive as it needs brakes and the tires are bald, but there are no funds to have this work done.

On the way home from visiting Pete in the hospital chelle's car just stopped in the middle of the road.  A kind soul helped her push it to safety and she walked the rest of the way home.  Tow truck$$ no money, repairs, done by a fellow veteran who charged them only his cost $600, but no money for that either.

The family has been going further and further in debt every month just trying to manage.  Just like this flag that hangs on their house they are faded, tattered, torn and weak, but holding on.

Mental health is just as important as physical health, especially to a veteran with PTS and for Pete that is his Harley.  He has been talking about converting it to a three wheel bike so he can "ride again before he dies".  It is in pieces in a garage and there is no way he will be able to complete this project on his own.  To Pete, Healthy is being able to ride his Harley.  If you have the skills or passion, please help.

Please help this veteran and his family.  We are NOT on ANY form of social media, so PLEASE help us by sending our message out on facebook, and twitter, etc.  Blessings
