Petal Student/Staff Tornado Relief

$5,570 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 58 people in 28 months
On January 21, 2017, a devastating EF3 tornado hit Petal, MS causing extensive damage to homes, businesses, and schools. The Petal School District has been contacted by individuals, schools, businesses and organizations across the state and country to offer assistance.  In an effort to meet the individual needs of students and staff who suffered property losses from the tornado, the Petal Education Foundation is accepting monetary donations for the student/staff assistance fund.

Because the tornado affected each family in different ways, the best way to assist is by purchasing items specific for each student. Some need clothes. Others need food. Each family has their own individual needs. By accepting monetary donations we will be able to meet those individual needs.

We have established a “Go Fund Me” account in order to accept online donations. Please visit www.gofundme.com and look for Petal Student/Staff Tornado Relief fund. You can also send a check directly to the Petal Education Foundation with a designation to the Student/Staff Assistance Fund.

We appreciate the many thoughts, prayers and offers for assistance and are grateful that no lives were lost in the storm. We remain optimistic that with time, all students, employees and families will be able to recover from their losses.

I have some clothes I am willing to donate! My daughter has clothes they range from Medium sizes to Large. All in good condition. My church will be coming to Petal tomorrow tomorrow to assist with supplies and I will be bringing these clothes. I am not sure yet where we are dropping these off at, but when I find out tonight at church, I will let you know.
