Peggy's Oxygen Fund
Donation protected
As many of you know, Peggy Wicker is my grandmother. She is an amazing person and always does so much for others. Now I am hoping we can do something for her. As most of you know back in 2012 she had triple bypass surgery. During her surgery her phrenic nerve was somehow damaged and her diaphragm is now paralyzed. She now pretty much needs to use oxygen 24/7 for the rest of her life.
My grandmom recently had to change her insurance and now her portable battery operated tank is no longer covered. She can get small tanks of oxygen put they are heavier to carry than her portable machine was and they run out of oxygen quickly. Her former oxygenator was less than 2 pounds the tanks weigh more than 2 pounds and are difficult for her to carry. The weight of the tank is causing her shoulder pain. This in turn makes her not want to use it and she then loses more of her independence and freedom.
I decided to make a go fund me page in the hopes of raising $3200.00 for a battery operated oxygenator. The cost of the one she had formerly ranges from $2500.00 to $2900.00 and then there is tax and shipping to take into consideration.
I am hoping to be able to purchase from the medical supply store that is selling it for 2500.00. One of my grandmother’s sisters and brother in-law has very generously donated $1000.00. This will leave only $2200.00 more to raise. Thank you in advance for considering this cause.
