Pedro Cain's Son- Raphael Cain

On May 23rd, Pedro Cain ( lovingly known as Pete by many) was shot and killed trying stop a robbery at his neighbors apartment. Just after midnight, Pedro noticed a suspicious group of people and tried to intervene.  A shot rung out and a fight ensued, and Pedro was rushed to the hospital.    Surgeons worked hours into the morning to try and stop the bleeding and repair the artery that had been hit, but Pedro did not pull through. 
     Pete was 24 years old.  He was a father, a son, a brother, a nephew, grandson, a cousin, a fiance', and a merchant mariner.   He was loved by many and he always had a smile on his face and was always cutting up and joking around.  He wanted to share his love of the tug boats and the industry with everyone he met.
       Pedro was coming into his own and making his path in this world.  He was proud of his accomplishments and proud of the progress he was making in his career.  Pete's proudest moment  was the birth of his son, Raphael.  Raphael is only 18 months and his visits with Pete will be at the cemetary.   Pete  wanted Raphael to be sucessful, he wanted him to have an easier life than he did.  He wanted to share his love of the boating life with his son.  His dreams of raising his family and living a good life have been shattered.
     As his family, we are devasted.  You should not have to bury a Son, or a brother, any family... not at 24.  We are working though our loss and keeping our attention to Raphael and his future.  If you feel compelled, if you knew Pedro and want to know what was important to him.  It was his family.  It was his son.  We are taking up this collection to ensure that Raphael, the light of Petes life,  and his future is financially secure.  Please post in memory of our Beloved Pedro and help us ensure Raphael is secure and able to pursue his dreams as he grows up.
