My name is Kim Forner-Mabey and my son-in-law Payton McCarty has been critically injured in a motorcycle accident. I am writing this on behalf of Payton and his family as a plea for your help. My youngest daughter Brittany met the love of her life, Payton McCarty, during her sophomore year of high school in Maypearl, Texas. They have been inseparable and married since 2011. Payton and Brittany have two amazing children, Trevor 5 and Skylar 3.
Payton served in the United States Marine Corp during Operation Enduring Freedom. He is a combat veteran. Payton has always been a hard working man, committed to his family, his business and his country. Since separating from the Marine Corp Payton has spent his time building his business, McCarty Fabrication.
Payton is 26 years old and he has many years ahead of him as a husband and father. However, Payton was involved in a motorcycle accident on Friday, October 28th, 2016. He sustained a traumatic brain injury and associated complications and he is fighting for his life. His recovery will be long and costly.
Since Payton is self-employed and Brittany is the stay-at-home mom of two energetic children, funds are limited and the medical bills outrageous. The GoFundMe account will be used to cover medical costs and ongoing expenses for Brittany and the kids as needed during Payton’s recovery.
It is true that we hurt when our children hurt. Payton has been a part of my family's life for the past 11 years. He is one of us. He is my daughter’s "Person!" – we can't lose him. When our children marry, their mate becomes part of the family. We should always take care of our own the best we can, in case by pleading on their behalf.
We never think it could be us, but this time it is. Our family will be forever grateful for your assistance, prayers and continued support as we serve this fine husband, father and veteran as he recovers from this tragic accident.
