About Vee Art Studios
Vee Art Studios is art service based in Jacksonville FL that believes in making a difference in the community. I offer illustration & graphic design services for both personal and commercial use! I also sell uniquely drawn one-off limited edition gaming inspired gear and art prints! 15% of all sales go towards the Mentoring and Outreach Program. This program helps troubled students interested in digital art by providing them with encouragement along with the computer hardware/software needed to get started free of charge!
Currently, Vee Art Studios is a small-scale business that I run out of my home. Last year in 2017 between July and December the Vee Art Studios Outreach Program was able to assist two teens! With the current amount of business I get, even if donating more than 15% it takes approximately half a year to save up funds to assist one kid if a full set up is needed.
What I need
I am humbly asking for your help to assist me with funding until I can find sponsors and or bring in enough business to earn money needed by myself. In the meantime, I'd also like to be able to reach out to more than two kids a year. The cost of supplies and hardware required for art and design can be a huge obstacle for lower-income families to overcome.
What will the funds be used for?
To be as transparent as possible I can provide receipts upon request for anyone curious about how funding is being spent!
1) Hardware and software for those in need
A decent starter set up cost about $650. That includes
- Laptop with specs capable of comfortably running software needed
- Wacom Drawing Tablet
- 1-year subscription of industry standard software (i.e. Adobe Photoshop)
2) Growing brands with networking ads
Some money would go towards purchasing ad campaigns on various social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to promote my company and bring in more followers. More followers equal more support for both the kids and me since I plan to feature their works on my network as well.
3) Promoting work practices by commissioning youth
Funds will go towards paying kids to complete art projects. This introduces them to the workflow of being a creative designer early.
4) Art event expenses
I need assistance traveling to art events both locally and out of town. Attending these events, I could reach out to more people and be more involved in the community and bring more awareness to my cause. Reserving spaces for art booths can range anywhere between $200 - $400 per event.
How soon would I need the funds?
There is no rush, but the sooner funds come in the more productive I can be!
What this support will mean to me.
The support would mean the absolute world to me. I'm grateful every penny donated and for every share this campaign gets.
There are so many kids out there who have talent but no support. For students faced with problems that come along with growing up in low-income areas, it’s easy for them to lose sight of their talents or turn to lifestyles that don't utilize their full potential. For families that can barely make ends meet or parents that do not support art, it’s difficult to keep children engaged in creative activities.
I don't believe children are born bad or wake up wanting to cause trouble. I feel crime and misconduct come from a lack of opportunity within the community. I'd like to think that if there are more positive things for kids to participate and shine in that they wouldn't be so involved in negative activities. I easily could've been one of those kids had I not been blessed with support. Maybe one day I can be their support. I'm going to try my best.
