Paul Kundert Lesson Scholarships
Paul Kundert was a longtime Waukegan resident who provided private instruction to students of brass instruments. He began by giving private lessons to students from the Waukegan School District. As he continued teaching, his students came from many other school districts in the Lake County area.
Paul was the most influential teacher I have ever had. I had the pleasure of studying with Paul from grade school through high school. During those years I learned a great deal about music and playing the trombone. Paul had a love of music that was infectious; a love of music that certainly infected me and countless other students. Paul was kind, selfless, a devoted teacher, WWII veteran, loving father, grandfather, and husband. He was gifted with a long life and he dedicated it to others. I would like to see that he continue to help others through this scholarship.
This scholarship fund will be facilitated through our program's band booster club, Do Re Mi. Scholarships will be given to deserving students to help pay for private lessons over the summer.
