Pauline Foundation Fundraiser
Don protégé
My Name is Pauline Nalumansi and I was born and raised in Uganda.
After my parents passed on and became a total orphan at the age of 12, I started going through a series of trauma and challenges.
I found myself living in situations that initially offered safety and shelter but too often turned out to be temporary and sometimes dangerous. I have been abused and exploited, belittled and called all sorts of names to pull my self-esteem down.
Though I have had a very hard life, I was able to meet someone who gave me the opportunity to pay for my education in high school. That support led me to pursue an education here in the U.S. through scholarships. I am now earning my Master’s at the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
The opportunities given to me have changed my life and inspired me to want to help young Africans who are in need of support and an education just like I was
Why I founded the Pauline Foundation & What it is:
I founded the Pauline Foundation this year in March to help other at-risk individuals going through what I went through and to help them heal in the process, like I have.
The Pauline Foundation empowers at-risk youth through education sponsorships, life and job skills training, talent development, and mentorships.
Through the life skills training, Pauline Foundation scholars are taught to make hand-make African crafts like bags, jewelry, and clothing.
Pauline Foundation has been trying to sell these products to supplement donations and to sponsor more scholars and grow the foundation
The Store and the fundraiser:
We want to set up a store in Uganda in order to expand the awareness of the Pauline Foundation and sell the accessories made by scholars.
A group of my classmates and I have started this fundraiser in order to have enough money to start the storefront and ensure the sustainability of the Pauline Foundation
