On the morning of December 23, 2017 the Patterson family was involved in a terrible car accident resulting in the tragic death of their 19 year old son and injuring all others in the vehicle.

The family was travelling from Oregon to Utah to visit family for the Christmas holiday. Three minutes from their destination they crashed and the vehicle rolled.  Kaje Patterson died at the scene. His older brother Nathan sustained a pelvic fracture and was released from the hospital Christmas Eve.  Their father Christopher Patterson was hospitalized with a punctured lung, a broken clavicle and numerous broken ribs; he underwent surgery and has since been released from the hospital.

Funds are desperately needed to help with the surmounting medical bills, funeral costs and to help the family get back to their home in Westfir, OR.

All donations will go immediately into an account held by Theresa and Christopher Patterson and will assist them in this long road to recovery.

While prayers and love will always be welcomed; any monetary donation that can be made no matter how small will help.

Anything you can give at this time would be greatly appreciated and humbly received.

I haven't posted an update in a while so I figured I'd better get to it.
The Patterson Family flew home to Oregon last Sunday. It is now that the long road to healing begins.
Although I am not with them physically my heart is with them.
We are still trying to get more donations as my dear brother in law and nephew still have a lot of medical care costs incurring.
If you can find it in your heart and your change jar... Please share, donate and remember to hold your loved ones dear. Life can change in the blink of an eye.

"I know this will be preaching to the Choir here, because everyone following this page cares about the Patterson family... here is some food for thought today.

When was the last time you purchased a vehicle? Do you remember what you paid? Chances are you do. And it wasn’t cheap to buy that vehicle. Automobiles are expensive!

The Patterson‘s vehicle was totaled in the accident. To accommodate their family, an SUV is what they are in need of. Insurance only covers a tiny little portion of their vehicle as it was older. I don’t know about you but I have been in an accident that did not pay to replace my vehicle. Insurance only gave me the value of my vehicle at the time. That’s the position that this family is in.

The money raised so far has been amazing, and I know that they are very humbled and grateful for the outpouring of support. If you have not yet had the opportunity to donate, so much is needed. Please consider doing so today."

If you think about it, replacing their vehicle could easily wipe out the whole go fund me account.
Let’s rally!!!!! Thank you all for being SO amazing!"

I just returned from my nephew's funeral service. I want to reach out to you all and thank you again for the outpouring of love and support.
We are still a long way off from our target donation amount and every little bit will help get my sister and her family back to their home in Westfir Oregon as well as assist with the continued medical expenses.
Again, thank you for all of your donations, love and support.
Brightest Blessings to you all!

I wanted to share what was written for my nephew Kaje that passed away.

“Kenneth James “Kaje” Patterson, 19, of Westfir, OR graduated from this life on December 23, 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT.
He was born April 8, 1998 in Nashville, TN. to Christopher and Theresa Patterson. While his time here was short , Kaje lived a full and rich life. In his 19 years he had lived in 18 different houses and called TN, OK, UT and OR home. Kaje always had an exuberance for life and only seemed truly happy when he was helping someone else. His love of animals began on his grandfather’s Horse farm in Oklahoma where he would sneak out in the middle of the night to play with the new foals and their mothers. This love stayed so strong in his life that on January 8, 2018 he was about to begin the long journey of becoming a veterinary Doctor, a dream he has had since OK.
Kaje reserved his love for no one. This same patience and kindness he gave to all, whether a snail on the sidewalk, a small child trying to take their first steps, or someone struggling because of a bully at school, Kaje was love. He shared that love with everyone no matter who they were or where they came from.
Kaje also had a love for cooking, he had watched cooking shows since he was in the 3rd grade. He was lucky enough to go to Network Charter School (NCS) in Eugene Oregon where he did 4 years of Culinary courses, which he used as an excuse to not cook at home because “we don’t have good enough ingredients at home”
While at NCS he also found that he could escape his natural quietness through acting, and found a love for Shakespeare, he even spent most of one summer vacation helping his teacher put on a performance with special needs children.
Kaje’s family takes solace in knowing that he is now showing that love and compassion he has and sharing it with others beyond the veil.
Kaje is survived be his parents, his brothers Nathan Patterson and Jonnathan Hoffman, his 6 grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, who we all hope will show as much love, compassion and understanding as did Kaje in his rich and full life.”
