曼城臺灣日需要您的支持，讓我們一起為『臺灣』而"站"!!
曼城臺灣日，是兩年前由曼徹斯特臺灣人協會以及曼徹斯特大學臺灣同學會共同籌辦的一個非營利活動，活動籌備夥伴來自在英國工作的臺灣人，留學生，或遠嫁英國的家庭主婦，我們匯集各自的專業，以志願服務的方式，突破重重難關，連續舉辦了兩屆曼城台灣日。
只為：讓世界看見臺灣，讓臺灣走進世界！
今年，我們即將舉辦第三屆曼城臺灣日，為讓臺灣的能見度提升，我們決定前進曼徹斯特市中心的市政廳廣場，連辦兩天，預計挑戰萬人參與的目標。
然因場地擴大、相關的器材、攤位、設計、宣傳海報、展覽及演出人員費用等相關經費的不足，讓我們的籌劃過程面臨了空前的挑戰。
曼城臺灣日為全歐洲最大的臺灣嘉年華，旨在推廣臺灣美食、藝術、手工藝、音樂及傳統文化，我們希望透過這個活動邀請世界的朋友們，重新認識臺灣。
2016年第一屆曼城臺灣日，邀請了金曲獎最佳原住民歌手查勞．巴西瓦里、二胡演奏家 David Chang，旅英攝影師 Jenni Chien (臉書專頁：『英國生活幸福的瞬間 』作者）、Enyu Lin，以及陶藝家陳文曦，共同參加，現場也以請台沛等臺灣小吃，以擺攤的方式，用美食拉近彼此的距離，首次活動即獲得一致好評。
2017年的第二屆曼城臺灣日，很榮幸邀請到來臺灣阿美族音樂創作鬼才舒米恩、新東方電子樂團紅樂團、臺灣宜蘭文化國中歌仔戲團，至現場演出．更首度與曼城佛光山、曼城慈濟，曼城聖彼得之家華語團契，等當地社團合作，為曼城臺灣日帶來熱鬧且多元的表演，同時，也規劃室內靜態展，以「信仰的力量」為主題，展出由中央研究院臺灣史研究所中央研究院數位文化中心、文化銀行提供的民俗慶典記錄照片。亦邀集原住民攝影師Varanuvan Mavaliw，及多次著名攝影獎得主Pungiya Kao同步展出珍貴的原住民祭典寫真．現場攤位新增許多臺灣美食廠商，及夜市遊戲攤位，讓第二屆曼城臺灣日，成為老少咸宜，豐富有趣的臺灣日活動。
第三屆曼城臺灣日，即將於2018的9月8日至9月9日舉辦，我們特別邀請到了董事長樂團，九天民俗技藝團，金曲獎最佳臺語專輯獎嚴詠能及其領軍的打狗亂歌團，以及英國前進樂團，為活動帶來精采的演出，並匯集更多旅英藝術家、美食廠商，共同聚集在英國的中心曼徹斯特，舉辦一場為期兩天，最有臺灣味的臺灣嘉年華會。
往年，曼城臺灣日均吸引超過兩千人的參與，並為參與的訪客帶來『回家的感動』；英國當地居民對臺灣文化的興趣及旅英僑民的對傳承臺灣文化的熱烈支持，是我們支撐我們繼續走下去的動力；
今年，是我們擴大舉辦的第一年，為了把臺灣舉更高，讓更多人能看見，我們迫切需要您的支持！

Manchester Passport to Taiwan Festival is the first and the largest Taiwanese festival in the UK (and Europe!), This is a non-profit event that is organised by MTA, the Scottish Taiwanese Association and the help of the volunteers from the Manchester Taiwan Alumni Association.
The festival is to promote Taiwan's culture, arts, food, products and services to the UK.
In the past two years, with around 2000 visitors each year, we provided a fun, entertaining and engaging way to “wow” everyone.
This year we are hosting this two-day event in the very heart of Manchester ---- Albert Square and so we need your SUPPORT!
Costs for venue rental, equipment, stalls, marketing material etc. are a lot higher than we expected. All the volunteers are unpaid, we just hope to make the event a success. Join us and show your support of an important cause: cultural exchange!
