Help me Help Others as a Paramedic

Donation protected

Hello there,
My name is Scott Watts and I am asking for help to raise $10,000 for tuition to become a Paramedic.

I recently completed six months of night classes for EMT training at Creighton University while working four parttime jobs.

After having passed the class and my NREMT certification exams, I received my State License to practice this past month. Within two weeks I was hired on to work as an EMT at a local ambulance company.

Ultimately though, it is my dream to work full time on a fire department again as a paramedic. I started volunteering as a firefighter at age 16 and worked actively in the fire service through most of college.

In order to do that however, requires a tremendous number of hours in the classroom, in labs, in clinical hours (400hrs+) in hospitals and fire stations, as well as individual study (and also working 40hrs/week somehow...)

I love helping people. I love working in medicine, and I know I can do it.

But even working as many hours as I possibly can, I don't know if I will be able to make rent and save enough money on $10-11/hr afford to take the year long class.

Classes start August 24th 2017. If the tuition can be raised here, then I have a shot, otherwise I'll have to keep trying to save and take more odd jobs to pay for the class over the next 12 months working as an EMT, and wait until August 2018 to start.

I've itemized the costs below, but before you read any further I just want to say how much it means to me that you would even be on this page reading this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to even consider helping me to cover the costs so that I can do the kind of work I feel called to do...saving lives.

And on behalf of all the people that will be positively impacted in the future thanks to the training and experience I've received so far and hope to receive in the very near future. THANK YOU.
