My name is Mary Bailey, and my daughter, (Miss) Melissa Bailey, was a 2nd grade teacher of the “Bailey Beehive” at Paradise Elementary School. On Thursday, November 8th, they were all evacuated from their school due to the Camp Fire burning in Paradise.  This photo is of their once beloved, happy and cohesive school, which has now burned to the ground. Many teachers and families have lost not only their school but their own homes. I don’t know where they are going to put these children for schooling because the fire has burned through their town, but when they do find a place I would love for these teachers and children to have some money for supplies and books as they now have absolutely nothing. Please help if you can. These children are our future and these underpaid and overworked teachers can not make this happen on their own, especially with their own personal losses.  I send my love and blessing to all staff, students, and families at Paradise Elementary School.

The school has been back in session for two weeks. They have moved from a 28 room school in Paradise to a 7 room school in Oroville. It has been quite a challenge. They are teaching all students in each grade in one room with all teachers. The enrollment is still down, of course, but my daughter has 40 students in one small class with three teachers. They have no curriculum books, as of yet, but there are many veteran teachers who know the curriculum. They have many counselors on site for students and teachers as the evacuation and trauma to many lives has been very traumatic. As you may have seen on the news, reuniting of students and teachers was a very happy time. They were all so pleased to be back together again. It is very important for these kids, who have lost their homes, to have a stable environment to go to daily.
They have all been so blessed with all the generous donations by this Go fund Me Acct and people who reached out to help. They have so many supplies and gift cards and go fund me money to still purchase more when they get more room.
Thank you all who donated and purchased supplies and gave gift cards and sent the teachers and students gifts. My heart is so full with love being sent their way. It was all so needed and gratefully accepted. Thank you, thank you!! Mary Bailey

Unfortunately, most of the Teachers that live in Paradise lost heir homes as well as the students/families. I would imagine they don’t even know how many students are local to need to go to school nor have they said where they are going to go. We are going to keep raising money and be ready to fill as many immediate needs as we can. Thanks to all of you generous and loving people who have already donated. If you are interested in still donating please go to the original link or Go Fund me Paradise Elementary School. Thank you all!!!
