2014: One Day at a Time Film/Book

Donation protected
This project. What can I say about this project? I could tell you so many things about it, but most of all, I want to tell you how proud I am of what has been created here.

2014: One Day at a Time started in 2 ways:
1) I wanted to make a book out of recycled/refound materials called "Confessions of a Paperhoarder". This is why the web address that brought you here is www.gofundme.com/paperhoarderbook

My goal was to sell 100 books. The story was about Victoria Ball who was a paper hoarder.  The illustrations were all hand-made from papers I had hoarded myself combined with my digital illustrations. It was very demanding, but the book itself was not in popular demand. Not enough people showed interest in this project and so I lost interest in it myself. There were a few nice people who had already donated. I didn't want to refund them because that would acknowledge that I had failed. So, I knew I owed it to them to make them something new that I also enjoyed doing.

2) At the same time (in 2013) I had been enrolled in a film school program but the equipment they used was too big for me and I couldn't manage it with my disability. The program should've been adapted to suit my needs, but it wasn't and nothing was going to change. So, I left and had a miserable time in an Office Administration program, which I finished as an honour student!

I knew that if given the chance and with different equipment, I could make a film. I was the person who gave me that chance and I made a film within my own means. That film was 2014: One Day at a Time.

I documented every day of 2014 from start to finish!

It was made with what would likely be considered "every day" technology:

A Toshiba Laptop with a webcam

An iPhone 4 and a couple of Canon digital cameras

Throughout the year, I also won an iPad and bought a Canon Rebel T5, which is a more professional camera.

To accompany this film, I made a book to fulfill my original promise of selling 100 books.

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!!!

During the filming of this project, I did not reach my goal of selling 100 books. I still believe I can get there, but I need help (and funds).

I am not charging people to see my film. It will be free on YouTube. www.youtube.com/user/annettedudenoway

A lot of effort was put into both parts of this project -- more than you will ever know. I have this crazy notion that I would like to be paid for my work! So, if you believe in that as well, I have some things to offer you in return so that you can be a part of this project. There is a whole list of rewards available to you, but I'll tell you about some of my favourites:

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:

$35.00-40.00

A soft-cover or hard-cover copy Deluxe Edition of 2014: One Day at a Time!

These are real books that were made in 2015.  These books are 8x10 inches vs. 7x8.5 cm and there was more flexibility in terms of layout. This was how this project was meant to be! There are several 2 page spreads of landscapes and it is easier to read. They are also less money than the original page-a-day format and should also prove to be a better quality! It just depends if you would rather have a book for your book shelf or something to put on your desk. Both are great products, but I'd prefer a book myself! All versions have more than 365 photos in colour and black and white!

$5.00

When I was doing the Paper Hoarder Book, I thought everybody would at least want to buy a postcard! By everybody, I mean 200 people. I ordered 200 postcards with the main character and her family on them. Oops. For $5.00 I will make you a collage postcard, using the other postcard as a starting point and things I have hoarded/collected. It will be:

A) One-of-a-kind
B) Made from recycled/refound materials (saving the planet)
C) Helping me conquer my hoarding problem
D) Easier for me to breathe once it goes to your house

$10.00

A postcard and a digital copy of the book! (Win-Win for you and the environment!)

$50.00

You will get a 365 page "book" that is in a page-a-day calendar format .

Don't forget there are other rewards beginning at $12.00!

Thank you so much for visiting this page!

I hope you will become a part of this project!
