Pamela's Smile

Donation protected
My name is Steven Tennis, I am Pamela's father.
As a result of a leak in the heater exhaust in the house they bought in Longbeach CA, and suffering from prolonged Carbon Monoxide exposure, Pam and her mother lost their house and became homeless. Life on the street is fraught with perils. Pam got a boyfriend, a gang member, and life looked hopeful. But he took to beating her, until one day he beat her unconscious, then continued kicking her in the face breaking ½ her teeth, on camera, at a Jack in the Box. The act was considered vicious enough that the attacker is facing life in prison.

Last March, Pam called me, and asked for my help to get straight and start life anew. I brought her into my home and she kicked her habits cold turkey. Now she is bright and active again, studying and breeding butterflies, looking forward to college and a career. She is a positive force in my life and the world around her.

But, she can’t eat solid food, and is embarrassed to smile. She is being seen to by the UHealth dental Dept. and they have removed 4 stumps so far, but the repeated surgeries and follow up pain management keep cycling her through the withdrawal symptoms she never wants to endure again. Her doctors recommend that she have all the removal work done at once, in an inpatient setting. Get it all done where professionals can see her through to the end. Then the anchors and bridge work can begin.

I cannot afford to do this myself; I lack the resources. I am hoping there are enough people who care about her future that a way can be found to help Pam through this.

Seeing the pain on her face every day is horrible to us. Pam is not one to complain and attempts to be stoic, but it is all there, plain to see.

All the extractions were done today and the posts implanted. Her smile is in her pocket, waiting till it can reach her eyes.
