Paying Tribute to Pamela "Pam" Hilton Powell

Pamela was born in the late '50s. She grew up in Rock Hill, SC where she met her future husband, Ervin "Runt" Powell. A short time later they had three children, one of which died during delivery. In the early '80s they moved closer to Runt's hometown. After over forty years together, their health began to decline.
In April 2019 Ervin passed away. Seventy-five short days later, Pam passed away, leaving their two children and three grand-children behind. Neither had a life insurance policy to assist with funeral expenses.
My mother was passionate about family. My entire life I remember her striving to create a warm, inviting home. She loved decorating, especially for the holidays --- all of them --- Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and especially Christmas. When her health began to fail, she became less and less able to celebrate.
Then, when due to health reasons, she and my father were placed in separate facilities for care, I believe they were both heart-broken. During her last days, she kept saying how much she missed my daddy.
And though their deaths, so close together, have left an aching in my heart, I know that they are both in a better place...together...with Jesus and each other.
This fund is created to honor my mother and help pay for her funeral expenses, a financial burden for which we were unprepared. The entirety of these funds will be used to help pay for both the funeral expenses (funeral home, casket/vault, burial) and a grave headstone for both she and my dad.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
