the Painted Prosthetic Project

Hello there! My name is Jon Palestini, I am an artist and designer who is always looking to help others and give back using art. With the help of James Bisset, Carmine Boutique and Warriors Pathfinfer, I am pleased to announce the Painted Prosthetic Project. Our plan is to have artists from around the country paint a prosthetic leg that will be provided to them. Artists will have 6 months to paint the prosthetic. The completed prosthetics will then be displayed in art galleries around Orlando, FL before being auctioned off in an online auction.
100% of the money raised will be going to the charity Warriors Pathfinder (for more info on the charity check out www.warriorspathfinder.org ). This charity helps wounded and homeless veterans get back on their feet. We will also be making a coffee table book of professional photos of all the painted prosthetics which will include bios of all the participating artists. Each artist involved will be sent one of the books. The books will also be sold with all the proceeds going to Warriors Pathfinder.
The money raised here will help offset costs for the project so it will cover the shipping of the prosthetic legs, and aquiring more prosthetic legs to use. Part of the money will also go to help publicise the project. Any remainder will go directly to Warrior Pathfinders. We are doing this, because we want 100% of money raised from the finished prosthetics and books to go to the charity. This way we will have our out of pocket expenses covered.
This project means a lot to us. I have been planning this project for a while because I love giving back in creative ways. James Bisset is a veteran, and knows first hand the struggles many returning and wounded veterans go through. That is why he founded Warrior Pathfinders.
Everyone who donates will be thanked on our website as well as given a special thanks/credit in the book.
