Paige and Ella's Journey Home

My sweet nieces, Paige and Ella, are miracle babies. If you have known Brandon and Sally in this past year you probably know that they lost a baby in January. It was the most devastating time in their lives. They loved that baby so much, but God had other plans for their angel. While they were traveling through their grief of loss God decided to bless them in an immeasurable way. In April they found out they were pregnant again and at the beginning of May they found out they were having twins! Their joy was unexplainable!

Shortly after finding out they were having twins they found out that their girls were battling a rare but extremely serious in utero disease called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Our family immediately went to Houston to meet with the experts on this condition and they told us it was highly unlikely that Paige and Ella would survive without surgery. Out of the nearly 900 cases the doctor has seen, less than 10 of those pregnancies resulted in babies that lived. My nieces became one of those 10. Sally and Brandon decided not to have the surgery and prayed HARD that God would protect their little angels and He did.

At this time we did find out that Paige had a heart condition called Pulmonary Atresia which means the pulmonary valve in her heart was not allowing enough blood to pass through. Because of this, we knew Paige was going to need surgery shortly after she was born in order to correct this deformity.

On October 25 at 3:41 in the morning, after countless prayers, joys, and tears Brandon and Sally's angels decided it was time to come into the world. The girls were born at 34 weeks and 1 day gestation (which for twins with their condition is a complete miracle). Paige came in weighing a whopping 5lbs 14oz and little Ella came in weighing a proud 4lbs 9oz.

Right now Ella is at Clements University Hospital in Dallas learning how to eat and grow on her own. She is doing amazing! We are so so proud of her!

Paige is at Children's Medical Center of Dallas in the Cardiac ICU awaiting her heart catheter procedure. Unfortunately, she has had a setback with a serious stomach infection  and meningitis they are currenly treating. She has had to be put on a breathing tube and is receiving antibotics through a central line. Our prayers are the infection will respond to the antibiotics and they can again schedule for the heart catheter.

Sally and Brandon are truly two of the hardest working people I know, but because of the constant time and finances this process is requiring, they have faced some major financial setbacks. Neither one of them is in a place where they can dedicate time to work, so they are trying to balance medical bills, newborn expenses and daily life with minimal income.

I know they have a community of people supporting them in prayer, but I also know how appreciative they would be of financial support, as well. Sally and Brandon would never ask, nor expect, people to help, but I cannot think of two people more deserving.

All the funds raised from this page will go directly to Sally and Brandon to spend on medical bills, or any other expenses they've encountered through their journey to getting Paige and Ella home. Although I set a minimum goal, God's blessed us with immeasurably more thus far, so I know we can go above and beyond whatever goal we set.

Please continue to pray over Paige and Ellas as they continue to grow and heal. Sally and Brandon are so ready to bring home their 2 healthy princesses!
