Everyone's beloved Jim Parker would never ask. But he needs our help after suffering a massive stroke on November 15, one week before Thanksgiving.

From Colorado to California, Washington, Oregon, and anywhere he has been, he has made lifelong friends along his journey. A newspaper man, a fixture in the craft beer industry, a jokester, inventor of totchos, ladies man, brother, father, friend, and cancer survivor, he is now a stroke survivor.

Please come together with us as we rally for his speedy recovery and return to the helm of his latest brewery project with Asher David Brewing and Cellarworks.

This amount may seem daunting, however, the first bill has arrived from Life Flight... for $50,000.00. Some expenses will be covered, some will not. These funds will be used to cover potions of his two week stay at OHSU and portions of his ongoing stay in a rehabilitation facility in Portland, Oregon. Additional expenses will include medical transportation and other incidentals until and after he is covered by Medicaid. Additionally, the family is open to rehabilitation methods being used in Europe which have not yet made it to the US, as well as other alternative therapies. Anything to get him back on his feet.

We have chosen to launch this Go Fund Me campaign today in concert with Jim’s 58th Birthday and an Appreciation Day Benefit being held in Jim’s honor at Belmont Station in Portland.

We will have complete transparency regarding the use of funds raised, with weekly updates and progress notes.

I would like to direct you to an article at brewpublic.com which gives us a glimpse into the many achievements of our beloved Jim Parker.

Hello friends of Jim Parker. It has been a long and strange and often wonderful journey since Jim’s stroke in November 2018. Such a pleasure meeting so many of you touched in some way by Jim. Thank you all for your kindnesses, donations, support, and love for his family.

You will notice the goal amount has been changed to $10,000. When this goal is reached, we will be ending the Go Fund Me campaign. Sticker proceeds will continue to go to the family on an establishment by establishment basis. For those of you wanting to do more for the family please reach out to them directly, if you need assistance in doing so I am happy to help. Another option is actually to send funds to Mindy Sullivan directly through Facebook.

As planning for the official memorial takes shape, I will post to the Asher David Facebook page and share it to Jim’s personal page.

As always, let’s keep raising our pints to Jim until the end of time.

Jim Parker stickers are available! Courtesy of Brian Koch of Lombard House. Bake Baker dropped some at the coast. The stickers sell for $5.00 apiece, with all proceeds going directly to the family for expenses associated with Jim’s passing.

Thank you all so much for your donations of time, space, real monies, stickers, music, and shoulders.

Though his body has left this world, it is clear Jim is still here with each of you.

Hello everyone-

This is how it seems. It seems Jim really did know everyone. And everyone who knew him has been deeply touched by his passing. Too young. Too many things left to do. Too many more ideas not yet put into play. Too many untold jokes. And most importantly- not enough chances for those hugs goodbye.

The donations have been pouring in since his passing- on behalf of Asher David and Jim’s family, specifically his sister Mindy, thank you.

As many of you know, Mindy... well, she has been an absolute champion through this entire experience. She rarely left her brother’s side from the moment she heard the news. She was his advocate, his strength, his big sister. Mindy made sure no one was ever turned away from visiting Jim. Because she knew it kept him going. We now know how much it meant to “everyone” else as well.

So, thank you Everyone, for everything.

I have attached a link to a brew public article posted by d.j. in the days after Jim’s passing. I will continue to post remembrances of Jim, as so much has been written in the short six days since his passing.

Here’s to Jim Parker
