For ages the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest have gathered together for potlatches, or giveaways, sharing their
gratitude for one another. The Lummi Nation will host over 100 canoes journeying from as far as Alaska and California for five days of feasting, singing, dancing, drumming and sharing through giveaways.

"Honoring Our way of Life" is the theme for the 2019 Paddle to Lummi. The Lummi Community is proud to announce the gathering for the Canoe Families to be traveling the Waterways of our Ancestors, this is not only healing for the pullers, but for all of the community members, there are many teachings that are passed on for all that participate and for all that come to the shores and visit our Lhaqtemish Tenexwen (Lummi Lands). You are invited to support the 2019 Paddle to Lummi Blanket Project. The Lummi Canoe Families chose the sacred eagle design for the 60 x 80 inch blanket. Donors are asked to contribute $90 to purchase 10 blankets; one you may keep for your own gifting.
Checks may be made out to Learning Right Relations, with Lummi Blanket on the memo line. Mail to LRR, 5515 40th Ave SW, Olympia WA 98512. OR contribute to this GoFundMe campaign. Please send your address so we can notify you of pick up locations or mail the blanket to you.
Learning Right Relations, a group of non-tribal people working in solidarity with the Lummi Nation, is sponsoring the blanket project and volunteering for the event. These blankets will be given to the Lummi Nation to gift during protocol when the Tribe honors their guests with sacred gifts.
