Guitars For People Who Need Them

Hi m8s. My name is Scott and I enjoy putting guitars together and making them play and sound nice and I think it would be much nicer to do that for people who can’t afford even the cheapest guitars.
The initial goal for this was £600, but there’s really no limit to how many I’m willing to make, so I’ve upped it to £1,000 because I can <3
I absolutely believe that learning to play and create music is a huge help to people with mental health issues or people in negative circumstances with no outlet for their emotions. It worked, and still works, for me.
I also hate the shitty cutbacks we’re seeing to schools’ music departments. When I was younger, having usable equipment and great, supportive music teachers got me out of a really shitty place. I’ll never forget that and it saddens me deeply to see schools in poorer areas of the UK cutting back on something so important and potentially enriching.
The money raised from this campaign will go directly to purchasing electric guitar kits and shipping the finished guitars to people who could use them most. I’ll be donating my time, tools and skills to ensuring every guitar comes out playable, well set-up and in good working order.
Every guitar will come with a personal note to the recipient and I’ll include the names of everyone who’s donated as a little heart-warming shout-out, I’ll also throw in various accesories such as straps, cables and picks that I’ve gathered over the years.
This is a cost-effective way to get decent, playable guitars into the hands of people who could really benefit from the joys and escapism that learning an instrument provides, without them being confined to only practicing at school hours, or having to borrow guitars of varying quality and not having their own instrument to get familiar with.
