Main South Girls Varsity Basketball

Dear Facebook friends, My name is Allen Jenkins and I'm the third year coach of the Main South girls varsity basketball team. Each year has been exciting and challenging as these inner city girls work so hard in the classroom and on the court to achieve their goals.  It's never been about wins or loses.  It's been about gaining respect as players and young student athletes.  All we ever wanted was a level playing field to compete with schools where facilities are better and equipment newer and more plentiful.  In our attempts at fundraising we come up short but continue to try and have learned to appreciate what we have.  My players have responsibilities that so often go outside of academics and basketball that I stand in awe of their accomplishments.  Those girls, my girls, deserve a break so they can have the warm-ups, the balls, the training equipment they need.  They don't complain but they see when we visit other schools.  I know it is a difficult time of year but any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated and pay dividends way beyond the court.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for investing in the future.
