We did it!
The Lowell Elementary Robotics Team qualified four (4) robots to attend the greatest robotic event ever--The World Championships!
VEX IQ competitions tasks teams of students to design and build a robot to play a game-based, engineering challenge. This STEM-based Robotics challenge places heavy emphasis on research, engineering, design, communication and teamwork.
Our 24 students have worked extremely hard designing and building high-scoring robots that are competitive in the Teamwork and Skills Challenges. We competed in seven tournaments and placed first in the Teamwork Challenge at two of those events as well as winning programming awards. Five of our teams secured Indiana State Championship invites that just occurred at Lucas Oil Stadium.
At the State Championship, two robots secured their highest Skills Challenge (driving and programming) score, two robots placed 3rd in their Division, two other robots placed 5th in their Division. One robot had a top score that earned them the opportunity to compete for Division Titles--they came in 4th! We also won the Think and Design Awards.
This success at the Indiana State Championship earned them an invite to the Vex IQ World Championships where they will compete with robots from other countries! We’re proud of the dedication and the improvement the team has shown all season long.
We are raising money to represent our school at the World Robotic Championships in Louisville, Ky.
Lowell Elementary, in MSD Warren Township, is a Title 1 School. The funds raised will be used for the following items:
(2) night stay in a hotel
(2) days of Lunch and Dinner for 22 students
Robotics Gift Exchange - Similar to the Olympics where teams exchange pins and bracelets
T-shirts for students to wear proudly at the competition
We appreciate your support in helping these incredible students to experience an amazing event that will impact their futures.
